Just how good a UX Designer are you? 

We’re looking for a UX expert to join the Ruckify team, building an online person-to-person rental marketplace. Our platform allows (posters?)(people?) to make extra money renting out stuff that would otherwise be collecting dust or used only a few times a year – or take advantage of those items to save buying items themselves just to have to store them. Plus we plant a tree for every transaction!

We’re pretty proud of the work that has been done to date, but we would like to take it to the next level with a UX pro on board.

You already have a decent portfolio of real-life projects, and have developed the ability to explain just why we need to incorporate the changes you are suggesting, likely leveraging a combination of “best practice” information supported by real-world data pulled from app usage.

You will ideally bring 6+ years of work experience in interaction and/or product design that leverages your formal training in UX.

Typical Day as a UX Designer:

You will be responsible for strong execution of all elements of the UX role, from direct usage pattern gathering from our users, through creation and testing of wireframes as we evolve our product to maximize adoption and use of the product. And as the sole UX in the company, you’ll be doing it without any safety net. (At least for now – but we’re growing pretty quickly). You’ll be joining a tight but motivated cross-functional team that is building out a responsive web site, iOS and Android apps, and an admin console, and working in an agile environment.

Detailed Responsibilities include:

  • Plan, Execute & Evangelize UX efforts for the company (in a “show them the difference” vs “preach to them” way).
  • Distill complex user mindsets, tasks, and workflows into (as simple as possible) rules and persona’s that the dev team can use for execution.
  • Use empathy, user research methods, and data to inform and produce tangible working artifacts that can be used to effectively communicate, seek and incorporate feedback, align stakeholders, and make decisions.
  • Build concepts, sketches, workflows, wireframes, interactive prototypes and visuals based on user scenarios, UX goals, and business priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Cold Calling
  • Source new opportunities through inbound leads and outbound calls and emails
  • Contact potential clients through calls and emails
  • Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
  • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest
  • Understand customer needs and requirements
  • Present our company to potential clients
  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • Customize product solutions to increase customer satisfaction
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with clients
  • Route large opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure
  • Close sales and achieve monthly quotas
  • Maintain and expand your database of prospects within your assigned territory
  • Team with channel partners to build pipeline and close deals
  • Perform effective online demos to prospects

Qualifications:

  • Cold-calling experience
  • Proven sales experience
  • Track record of over-achieving quota
  • Strong phone presence and experience dialing dozens of calls per day
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong listening and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

A typical day as a Financial Controller at Ruckify:

The Controller will be working with and reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer of Ruckify. You will be required to help choose, design, and implement various systems, processes and internal controls, necessary for a growing company. You will lead the implementation of NetSuite and will be responsible for all accounting operations of the business. It is likely you will be required to wear multiple hats in this role: 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the accounting records are complete and accurate;
  • Ensure the underlying transactions are appropriately recorded on the accrual basis of accounting;
  • Oversee account reconciliation for GL accounts to supporting detailed reports;
  • Review supporting accounting reconciliations to the GL;
  • Close the transactional month-end on the company’s schedule;
  • Assist with quarter end and year end processes;
  • Identify anomalies/variances from expected results with interpretive analyses;
  • Assisting with the implementation of NetSuite and other systems to be determined; 
  • Be the first liaison with company auditors
  • Handle the processing of the company’s SRED credits; and 
  • Handle the payroll processing for employees in Canada and the US, and process government remittances
  • Design, adapt, evolve, document processes and internal controls to ensure that all accounting and finance department requirements are met

Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) preferred; or
  • Three-year program Business Administration or Accounting Diploma from a Community College with commensurate work experience.
  • Experience in bookkeeping at an organization with over 50 employees;
  • Experience using NetSuite, QuickBooks, and working in a team environment;
  • Domain expertise for accounting and contract management software; 
  • Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (“ASPE”) or International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”);
  • Experience with ERP and accounting system implementation is an asset; and
  • Qualified to work in Canada on a permanent basis.

A typical day as a SEM Specialist:

The Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Specialist will manage all paid search campaigns on Google and all pay-per-click (PPC) marketing activities. As well as other search and display marketing engines. A successful SEM Specialist will effectively manage the paid search budget and work with the SEO and Marketing team in order to maximize ROI, drive traffic, and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting the internal account management team in the media planning, buying, campaign execution, administration and reporting for multiple digital marketing campaigns, including paid search, display advertising, Facebook advertising, Instagram advertising and more
  • Online research of digital media trends, opportunities, and competitive data to present internally as requested
  • Campaign set up including keyword research, writing ad copy, setting CPC/CPM bids, conversion tracking implementation, call tracking set up, and testing
  • Manage daily budget reconciliations and monthly allocations
  • Optimize campaigns based on real-time data to improve performance
  • Develop campaign performance reports for use by both the internal team and external clients
  • Initiate campaign, creative and landing page experience improvement projects to present to clients, and manage resulting projects and initiatives
  • Maintain detailed written status reports to ensure efficient workflow, and ensure adherence to deadlines and deliverables

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • A minimum of two-year work experience in a similar role creating PPC campaigns in Google AdWords & on Facebook
  • Google Adwords Certification Required; Analytics Certification a plus
  • Knowledge of paid search, display, mobile, video, and social campaigns including creative guidelines, targeting and trafficking principals
  • Follow paid search trends as the various platforms evolve
  • Must be creative, detail oriented and love finding strategies to get clients stronger conversions
  • A background and/or interest in measurement and optimization of marketing ROI is key to this role
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Quantitative and analytical skills, experience with relevant digital analytics and reporting tools a plus
  • Highly pro-active and solution-oriented, a team player and self-starter
  • Ability to thrive in an extremely fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Must be solutions-oriented and an innovative thinker
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
