How many times have you thought to yourself, “I need more time!”
Well, we have good news. This week, you’ve got it! Saturday is February 29, an occasion that only comes about once every four years.
As well as bringing the Olympic Games and presidential elections, leap years also provide an extra 24 hours to do… well, whatever it is you want to do!
What have you been putting off? What’s been on the back burner as you’ve been swamped with work, study, or chores?
Consider the extra day an opportunity to recharge, to take a step back from the status quo and consider the important things in life.
Lost for ideas? Here are some ways to make the most of your extra day this year.
Try a new hobby
Hobbies are too often considered a luxury, something to indulge in only when you have spare time, or money.
Well, thanks to Leap Day, now you have that spare time. And as we’ve mentioned before, Ruckify takes the expense and the burden of buying equipment required for new hobbies away, leaving you free to discover your next great passion.
The only question now is: what do you want to try?
Plan an adventure…
There’s nothing like an escape from the daily grind to help you recharge.
Use those extra hours to think about where you’d like to go or what you would like to do. It doesn’t need to be a break-the-bank trip to some far-flung destination, either.
Discover the great outdoors with a road trip through Ruckify RV. Rent an RV from somebody in your community, switch off and head out into nature.
… or a staycation
If you don’t feel like heading out of the city, why not have an adventure at home? When you’re doing nothing but working, studying and commuting, it can be hard to appreciate everything your hometown has to offer.
Why not rent out a kayak to take out on the lake, or a picnic set for a lunch down at the park?
If the weather’s rotten, you can always rent a board game, too. Ruckify can make it easier for you to make the most of an adventure at home.
Start a side hustle from your garage
Yeah, I know, this one sounds difficult. But hear us out; it’s as simple as going into your garage or storage cupboard!
Use Leap Day to have a look at those items that have just been collecting dust and taking up space.
Think about whether anybody else in your community could make some use of the items. Post them on Ruckify and start getting some use out of them by sharing them with your community.
It’s an easy way to meet new people and to make some extra cash. Start that side hustle you’ve always thought about!
Plus, there’s no need for a trip to the landfill when something old isn’t forgotten and something new isn’t bought.
It’s less prevalent these days, but in some cultures February 29 was traditionally the day women would propose to their partners, rather than men doing so.
If you do decide to take the leap and then feel immediately overwhelmed with the planning that goes into a wedding, get in touch with us!
Ruckify can find you the items to make your special day perfect, saving you the hassle (and price!) of buying wedding items you’ll only use once by renting from someone who already has them in your community.
Congratulations in advance!
Write to your future self
Think about where you were four years ago. Who were you, where were you, and how were you in February 2016? I’m sure a lot has changed since then.
Now think about where you want to be four years from now. Write it down or type it out, even discuss it with a loved one. It might sound silly at first, but looking long term can be a great way of working out what’s important to you.
I doubt your letter to your future self will be about the stuff you want to buy. It’s going to include the adventures you want to go on, the personal growth you want to take, the new connections you want to make.
In the future, you’ll appreciate the thought.
The great thing about any of the subjects on this list is that they can be done anytime, not just for a Leap Day. So take some time out of your daily routine and think outside the box!
